Description:
This diorama presents a meticulously constructed fragment of wartime architecture, conceived as a stand-alone display environment for 1/6 scale figures (figure not included). The central structure—a stone wall rising eight inches in height—has been executed in high-grade XPS insulation foam, each stone individually carved, fitted, and finished by hand. The surface bears successive applications of acrylic pigment, layered to capture both depth and age, and sealed beneath a gloss finish to preserve detail and protect against deterioration.
The environment is further articulated through the use of naturalistic ground cover. Faux foliage, overgrown grasses, and moss have been integrated with actual soil, yielding an effect of authentic terrain marked by neglect, weather, and time. These elements combine to create a setting that evokes the atmosphere of a European battlefield during the Second World War.
The work is mounted within a wooden frame that both stabilizes and elevates the presentation. The base is lined with felt, allowing for smooth placement on a variety of surfaces, whether displayed within a case, on a shelf, or as part of a larger installation.
